The officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained 5 people for drug crimes in Tbilisi and Adjara as a result of recent operative measures and investigative activities.
The committed crimes envision 20 years or lifetime imprisonment.
The police also foiled the facts of illegal selling of drugs through the Internet - they removed the drugs placed in different places for further sale and arrested 3 people.
The officers of Kobuleti Police Division under Adjara Police Department detained previously convicted multiple times for attempted illegal purchase, storage and sale of drugs in especially large quantities - I.M. (DoB 1975). Police seized a drug containing buprenorphine as a result of his personal search. In the town of Chakvi, under the direction of I.M. police seized the drugs placed by him at different locations for further sale.
Two persons detained by Gldani-Nadzaladevi Main Division of the Tbilisi Police Department were arrested for group preparation of drug sale in Tbilisi. The detainees are: S.C., (DoB1998) and N.M. (DoB born 1995).
In Tbilisi, Nadzaladevi district, the law enforcers seized narcotics placed by the accused persons for further sale as evidence.
Z.Gh. (DoB 1988), was detained by the officers of Tbilisi Police Department's Main Investigation Division for illegal purchase and storage of drugs in large quantities, illegal cultivation of plants containing drugs in especially large quantities, illegal purchase and storage of large quantities of "marijuana" and illegal purchase and storage of firearms.
During the search of the detainee's apartment, the law enforcement officers seized as evidence: a pistol, up to 4 kilograms of "marijuana" cultivated by him, as well as various types of narcotics.
The officers of the Central Criminal Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested T.T. (DoB 1981), on charges of illegal purchase and storage of drugs in large quantities and illegal cultivation of a plant containing drugs n especially large quantities in Tbilisi.
During the search of the detainee’s house, the law enforcers seized 1 package of dried "marijuana", 2 packages of "MDMA", and 39 cannabis roots from the greenhouse for cultivating the plant containing the drug.
Investigation is in progress under Article 260, Article 19-260, Article 265, Article 273, Article 18-273 and Article 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
